Power Supply Situation


Rolling Blackout by Tokyo Electric Power Co., updated on 13 March 2011,21:40

Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEP) plans to carry out rolling blackouts on its service area, starting on 14 March 2011.
The applied area includes seven prefectures (Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Saitama, Chiba, Kanagawa and Yamanashi) and Tokyo, except for some area in tokyo due to maintain the government efficiency.
TEP will divide the area into 5 regions. Each region will take three hours of power outages in turn (6:20-22:00).
The rolling blackout will start from 6:20AM on March 14. and it may last for a few weeks.

Ibaragi Prefecture: 532,500 houses
Tochigi Prefecture – 12,200 houses (majorities are in Utsunomiya city)
Chiba Prefecture – 34,600 houses (Asahi, Katori and Kansaki)


Tohoku Area, updated on 12 March 2011, 13:00

Current number of properties are without power in Tohoku area:
4,016,000 houses in total

Prefectures:
Aomori: all areas, 744,000 houses
Iwate: all areas, 780,000 houses
Akita: all areas, 512,000 houses
Miyagi: all areas, 1,387,700 houses
Yamagata: almost all areas, 417,000 houses
Fukushima: parts of Naka-Dori, Hama-Dori are without power, 183,000 houses
Nigata: parts of Tokamachi, Tsunan-machi are without power 81 houses
These numbers will be changed after re-assessment

Situation of the Nuclear Power Stations
All Nuclear Power Stations are stopped.

PLEASE EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY!!!}

Other Power Stations
Hachinohe Power Stations: No3 reactor stopped
Noshiro Power Stations: No1 and 2 reactors stopped, and area about to be reactivated
Akita Power Station: No2 and No3 are already activated!!!, No4 stopped and are about to be reactivated
Sendai Power Station: No4 reactor stopped
Shin Senadi Power Station: Stopped, under water
Hara town Power Station: No1 and No2 stopped, fire was seen but already stopped

All thermal power stations: stopped and are about to be reactivated

Transfer Stations: confirmed damages at the 31 stations

CAUTIONS
If you see the broken powerlines, do not go closer or touch.
If you need to evacuate your house, please turn off main power switch.
If you do not have power now, please also turn off the mains.
